Yemen Reaffirms UAE’s Role in Supporting Peace

The Yemen Ministry of Defence reaffirms that the United Arab Emirates has participated in the Arab Coalition since 2015, supporting legitimacy in Yemen and contributing to international efforts to combat terrorist organizations while striving for security and stability for the Yemeni people.
“The UAE has made significant sacrifices to achieve these goals,” read the statement issued in response to the announcement made on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates regarding ongoing developments in the Republic of Yemen, including details concerning the presence of UAE Armed Forces as part of the Arab Coalition to Support Legitimacy, stated.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Defence notes that the UAE Armed Forces concluded their military presence in Yemen in 2019 after successfully fulfilling their assigned missions within established frameworks. The remaining presence was restricted to specialized personnel involved in counterterrorism efforts, coordinated with relevant international partners.
In light of recent developments and their potential impact on the safety and effectiveness of counterterrorism operations, the Ministry of Defence announces the voluntary withdrawal of its remaining counterterrorism personnel in Yemen. This decision has been made to ensure the safety of its personnel and in collaboration with concerned partners.
The Ministry of Defence emphasizes that this action aligns with a comprehensive assessment of the current phase’s requirements and reflects the United Arab Emirates’ ongoing commitment to supporting security and stability in the region.”
