Sudan Decries Global Silence on RSF’s War Crimes: Calls for Accountability and Action

Ethiomonitor – Addis Ababa

February 9 2026

The Sudanese government has sharply criticized the international community for its apparent inaction regarding the war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia and its “Tasis” authority in Darfur and Kordofan.
In a formal statement, officials condemned the silence from global leaders, asserting that such negligence undermines the credibility of both the United Nations Security Council and the international community.
The government highlighted the alarming use of advanced weaponry by the RSF, suggesting that these arms, which necessitate strict end-user certificates for their procurement, raise serious questions about their origins. This situation represents a clear violation of the UN Security Council’s arms embargo on Darfur.
In an unequivocal stance, the Sudanese government stated it would not accept any external interference or collaboration with those who facilitate or ignore these atrocities.
“We remain steadfast in our determination to end the violence and restore peace, not through imposed solutions, but by dismantling the networks enabling these crimes and holding those responsible accountable,” officials emphasized.
The Sudanese administration expressed gratitude to supportive nations advocating for Sudan’s security, unity, and the well-being of its citizens. They urged both the international and regional communities to take decisive action against the perpetrators of these heinous acts in Darfur, Kordofan, and beyond.
