The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Sudan has announced the summoning of Mr. Laurent Bukera, Director of the World Food Programme (WFP) Office in Sudan, and Ms. Samantha Katraj, WFP Head of Operations. The government has formally informed both officials that they are designated as unwelcome in the country and must depart within 72 hours.

In its statement, the Ministry emphasized that the Government of Sudan remains committed to fostering cooperation with all international organizations operating within its borders. This commitment is grounded in international laws and standards that uphold state sovereignty and guide the conduct of humanitarian operations.

The Ministry also clarified that this decision will not affect the ongoing collaboration between Sudan and the World Food Programme. The partnership will continue to focus on implementing programs and delivering vital humanitarian assistance across the country, ensuring that support remains accessible to those in need.
