Tarco Aviation Launches First Flight Between Addis Ababa and Port Sudan

Tarco aviation commenced its inaugural flight today, Monday, from Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa to Port Sudan Airport in Sudan. Flight 347 departed this morning, carrying a number of passengers headed for Port Sudan.
The return flight, Flight 346, will operate from Port Sudan back to Addis Ababa.


The launch event was attended by notable figures, including the Sudanese Ambassador to Ethiopia, Al-Zain Ibrahim Hussein, members of the diplomatic corps at the Sudanese Embassy, leaders of the Sudanese community in Ethiopia, and representatives from travel and tourism agencies as well as Ethiopian Airlines and the Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority.


Last week, Tarco aviation announced the introduction of direct flights between the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, and the interim administrative capital, Port Sudan, starting Monday, October 20, 2025. This initiative aims to enhance travel and trade between Sudan and Ethiopia.


Omar Ahmed Idris, Tarco aviation Regional Director in Addis Ababa, stated that the new route is part of the company’s strategic plan to expand its regional network and connect Sudan to various African capitals and cities. He emphasized that this route will strengthen economic and trade relations between the two countries while facilitating the movement of business travelers and passengers.
