In a bid to bolster travel and trade, Tarco Aviation has announced the launch of direct flights between Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, and Port Sudan, the temporary administrative capital of Sudan, starting Monday, October 20, 2025.

Omar Ahmed Idris, the Regional Manager of Tarco Aviation in Addis Ababa, highlighted that this new route is part of the airline’s broader strategy to expand its regional network.

“This initiative will not only enhance connectivity between Sudan and Ethiopia but will also strengthen economic ties and facilitate the movement of both businessmen and travelers,” Idris said.

The new flights to Port Sudan complement Tarco Aviation  existing services, which include regular flights to Asmara, further improving regional connectivity.

Idris emphasized the airline’s commitment to high-quality service, prioritizing passenger comfort and adhering to the highest safety standards.

As one of Sudan’s leading air carriers, Tarco Aviation operates flights to various destinations across Africa and the Arab world. The airline continues to pursue an ambitious expansion strategy, aiming to enhance its presence in the region and provide travelers with more options.

This new route marks a promising step toward deeper economic collaboration between Sudan and Ethiopia, offering opportunities for increased trade and tourism.
