DP World has announced the launch of a new strategic shipping route that connects Jebel Ali Port in the United Arab Emirates with Berbera Port in Somaliland. This new service, operating every nine days, significantly enhances DP World’s global shipping network and reinforces Berbera’s status as a vital maritime gateway and logistics hub in East Africa.
The introduction of this route comes at a time when global trade dynamics are shifting, and the demand for efficient logistics solutions is increasing.

Jebel Ali Port, one of the largest and busiest ports in the Middle East, serves as a critical hub for trade and commerce, facilitating the movement of goods to and from a variety of international markets. Berbera Port, on the other hand, has been strategically positioned to cater to the growing trade needs of the Horn of Africa and beyond, thanks to its deep-water capabilities and proximity to key shipping lanes.
By linking these two pivotal ports, DP World aims to streamline supply chains and reduce transit times for goods traveling between the Middle East and East Africa.
The new service is expected to attract increased shipping traffic and enhance economic opportunities for both regions, fostering trade partnerships and regional development.
